Vladimira Scigulinska

Born in Slovakia, where she currently lives, after returning from Bergen. Professional violinist.

 

Graduated from The Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Bratislava (Slovakia) in the Violin Performance (BA) under doc. Jozef Kopelman and from The Grieg Academy in Bergen (Norway) in the Violin Performance (MA), under prof Ricardo Odriozola. She also holds a postgraduate diploma in chamber music, from The Grieg Academy in Bergen, also under prof. Odriozola.

 

Throughout the years, she was a member of many international orchestras and projects. To name some of them:

 

Member of Central Europe Initiative Youth Orchestra, with concerts in Italy, Austria and Slovenia, member of the Czech National Symphony Orchestra with concert tours in England, (conductor Ben Palmer) as well as a concert in Ireland with international star Ennio Morricone. Vladimira was also a member of a Symphonic Orchestra performing Christmas show ´Le Mystère du Noël´ at Grand Parc in Puy du Fou, France. She annually travels to China with Vienna Royal Symphony Orchester, to play New Year's concerts.

 

During her studies in Bergen she was a member of the Bergen Filharmoniske Ungdomsorkester, Opera Bergen and Bergen Unge Kammerorkester.

 

She took part in various chamber music projects, for example: Borealis - a Festival For Experimental Music, as well as  ´Stikk Innom´ project, which was a part of Festspillene i Bergen (Bergen International Festival), where she was a leader of numerous chamber music groups.

 

She currently lives in Košice (Slovakia) where she is an employee of the State Philharmonic Orchestra in Košice, playing in the first violin section.
